  पेट के रोगों में उपवास का सर्वाधिक महत्व है I रोगों की अवस्था के अनुसार अर्ध उपवास, एकाहार रसोपवास, फल उपवास, दुग्ध उपवास, मठ्ठा उपवास कराया जाता है I पूर्ण उपवास में सादे जल के अलावा कुछ नहीं दिया जाता है I  उपवास विधि - मानसिक रूप से स्वयं को तैयार करें और शारीरिक दृष्टि से प्रारम्भ में दो दिन भोजन की मात्रा आधी कर दे और फल तथा सब्जियां बढ़ा दीजिये I एक दो दिन सिर्फ एक समय रोटी सब्जी और सलाद लीजिये और दुसरे समय फल लीजिये I एक से तीन दिन फलाहार, फिर एक से तीन दिन रसाहार, पुनः एक से तीन दिन निम्बू का पानी, शहद लें I रोगी की शारीरिक, मानसिक अवस्था देखते हुए दो तीन दिन तक संतरे के रस पर रहते हुए सीधे उपवास पर आ जाएं I उपवास के दौरान मल सूख जाता है, उपवास के पहले अर्द्धशंख-प्रछालन या नाशपाती, आंवला, करेले के रस से पेट को पूर्ण साफ़ कर लेना चाहिए I उपवास के दौरान एनीमा, मिटटी-पट्टी, मालिश, धूप स्नान, टहलना,आसन, प्राणायाम,कुंजल आदि चिकित्सऱोग के अनुसार करें I इस दौरान एक घंटे के अंतराल पर एक गिलास पानी में निम्बू निचोड़कर पीते रहे I  उपवास तोड़ने की विधि - लम्बे उपवास में कुछ परेशानी होती ही

  जैसा की ताजा खबर है की शरद पवार जी ने अपनी पार्टी की डोर सुप्रिया सुले और प्रफुल्ल पटेल के हाथों में सौंप दी है, यह जांनना दिलचस्प होगा की उनके भतीजे और पार्टी के शक्तिमान नेता अजित पवार के लिए इसके क्या माएने है ! क्या वे पार्टी के नेपथ्य में धकेल दिए गए हैं या पार्टी की मुख्यधारा से किनारे कर दिए गए हैं I इससे पहले भी कुछ दिन या सप्ताह पहले पवार साहेब ने पुस्तक विमोचन के समय पर स्वयं को पार्टी प्रेजिडेंट के तौर पर से किनारे कर लेने की घोसणा की थी परन्तु पार्टी के अन्य सदस्य इसके लिए तैयार नहीं हुए या उनके विरोध के चलते शरद पवार जी ने अपना इस्तीफा जो उन्होंने देने की घोषणा की थी उसे वापस ले लिया और शायद सही समय का इंतज़ार करने लगे I  फिर अचानक से ऐसा क्या हुआ जो उन्होंने आज इसकी घोषणा कर ही दी I  अब सवाल उठता है की शरद पवार के इस कदम के बाद पार्टी और अजित पवार का क्या होगा ? क्या अजित पवार को पार्टी का नया नेतृत्व स्वीकार होगा या वो भी शरद पवार के नक़्शे कदम पर चलते हुए अपनी अलग राह बनाएँगे ? गौरतलब है की उनके काका शरद पवार जी ने भी सोनिया गाँधी के नेतृत्व पर सवाल उठाते हुए नारायण दत्
