Indian Government Orders CBI Probe into Balasore Rail Accident: Seeking Truth and Accountability!
2nd June 2023 will always be a haunting day in the history of the Indian Railway & also a stigma on the security and safety of railway passengers. The clash of three trains The Bengluru-Hawrah Superfast & Coromandel Express & goods trains claims approximately 300 lives with over 800+ sustaining fatal or serious injuries. It was the promptness of the NDRF (National Disaster Relief Force) & locals who helped in mitigating the loss otherwise it could've been worsening the mishap. It's the deadliest train accident in the history of Indian railway in the last two decades. The gravity of this unfortunate accident can be understood that it took more than 48 hours in getting back things to normal but yet a lot to be done to restore normalcy. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Prime Minister themselves rushed to the spot & tried to understand the condition of the very unfortunate accident along with paying condolence to those who lose their lives and many admitted to hospitals recuperating from the sustained injuries.
Although Railway Minister & Spokesperson gave their statement about the cause of the unfortunate accident. In a bid to ascertain the cause and ensure accountability, Narendra Modi-led Indian government has ordered a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the recent rail accident that occurred in Balasore.
