Wrestlers of India Vs WFI Head Brijbhushan Sharan Singh!

While the few wrestlers in India who won medals for the nation are demanding the sacking of WFI Boss Brijbhushan S Singh & banning WFI, and a few Olympians are trying to mediate between the two sides, United World Wrestling Body enters into the scenario threatening to ban WFI which added more fuel to the fire as the matter becomes global instead of a local matter of power tussle between the two sides.

Let's delve into the matter and see what is the real tussle between the two sides :

The very first demand by wrestlers is the sacking of WFI Chief Brijbhushan Singh, as allegedly Brijbhushan S Singh harassed and exploited many female wrestlers. On occasions, Singh also humiliated these wrestlers and left them embarrassed and insulted as wrestlers alleged.

The wrestlers are so rigid and stubborn in their demands that they don't want anything less for them other than the sacking of Brijbhushan Singh & putting him behind bars for the allegations against him. Interestingly a couple of F.I.R. has been registered by Delhi Police after the Apex Court intervened. The first FIR has been registered under the POCSO Act along with relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code which was filed based on the allegations of a minor.

Sports Ministry Stand:

Taking cognizance of the unrest among the sportspersons the Ministry for Sports, India tried to clear the matter by making the protestors understand that whatever actions are to be taken, will be as per the law of the land and by the Olympic charter as there are some clauses to dissolve any organization failing to which the entire Olympic association of the nation can face the suspension.

Even after the Sports Ministry's statement, the wrestlers are not ready to settle for anything less other than meeting their demands at the earliest otherwise they'll continue their protests at Jantar-Mantar, New Delhi. Adding more to their protests the wrestlers threatened to flush away their medals in the holy river Ganga at Haridwar, which they as seen on many TV channels even tried to but "Dramatically" A person more known as an activist who led the "Farmers Protest against the Central Gov't Bills for farmers" enters the scene and successfully convinced the wrestlers not to flush their medals and continue the protest. Also, he along with a few more activists and political parties and personals extended their support to the wrestlers.

WFI Chief Brijbhushan Singh Take against the protest:

Amid all these protests and so on, the man at the helm i.e. Brijbhusan Singh WFI chief, requested and called on the protestors to stop their protest and go back home as already the matter is under investigation by investigating agencies and the probe is already against him. The Chief claims to come out clean after the investigation is over & even challenged the wrestlers to come for an open "lie detector test" to which the latter gave a cold shoulder and continued to carry on with their protest and demand. By the time the article is written, Brijbhushan went to the extent that if found guilty he should be given capital punishment and hanged publicly.

Conclusion:

Now, with pictures changing day by day and actors joining from other than sporting arenas as well it seems difficult to get to any remarkable decision immediately. Whatever the outcome of all these would be but it'll leave a dent and question mark on the bodies of various sports organizations, their functionalities, and bonding with their players. Earlier too, there had been many such circumstances between players and their associations or bodies which were amicably resolved. But this time the playground is different and the players too are in different roles.

Jai Hind!
